We
have seen many virtual keyboards come into existence by different companies but
now finally we have a virtual trackpad come into existence, not exactly – as the manufacturing has been started but the official release date is not yet announced. It's
the EvoMouse that brings the change in just a small cute piece of plastic.
The
EvoMouse is like a small pet, four-legged with two infrared sensors in the
front. The infrared sensors act as the virtual mouse allowing your finger to
work on the table as a pointer. It works with particular gestures and also
supports the pinch-to-zoom and rotate options in Windows 7. According to the
company, the device works on any flat surface and requires only a small space
so the distance of hand and the device is what you need to be careful of when
working on a smaller area. It can be operated both via USB and Bluetooth
connection, it would work for two full hours on a wireless connection with a
fully charged battery. It is currently not compatible with Apple devices, it
only works on Windows, Blackberry and Symbian devices.
Celluon
claims that the EvoMouse could also help reduce repetitive stress injuries like
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by allowing users to hold their hand in a natural
position. Currently no word on a release date or pricing for the EvoMouse, so
will keep you’ll updated.
